Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Platform Operations Engineer to join our data analytics project.

About the Role
  • This is a senior-level position responsible for designing, operating, and improving AWS platform infrastructure to ensure robustness, security, and scalability.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of professional experience in platform operations, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps, with a strong focus on leadership, technical strategy, and platform design.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, observability, cost monitoring, and system reliability.
  2. Collaborate with backend engineers to develop and maintain APIs and backend services for the Atlas platform.
  3. Design and implement comprehensive unit and integration tests, adhering to best practices.
  4. Participate in code reviews and peer programming.
  5. Produce technical requirements documents and system designs for platform enhancements.
  6. Collaborate with Frontend, Data Engineering, and Product teams to align platform and backend development with business needs.
  7. Break down operational initiatives into actionable projects and lead their execution.
  8. Mentor junior engineers and guide best practices in platform operations.
  9. Provide on-call support rotation for platform stability.
  10. Report directly to the CTO, providing updates on platform health, risks, and opportunities.
Requirements
  1. 5+ years of professional experience in platform operations, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps.
  2. 3+ years of backend engineering experience (REST/GraphQL APIs, Python, or similar).
  3. Real-world experience with SQL and cloud-based data systems.
  4. Proficiency in AWS services (ECS, EKS, RDS, Lambda, Secrets Manager, etc.).
  5. Infrastructure as Code expertise, with CloudFormation (primary) and Terraform (secondary).
  6. Experience with container orchestration and infrastructure automation (Git, CI/CD, Docker).
  7. Familiarity with observability stacks (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar).
  8. Strong leadership in technical strategy, platform design, and reliability.
  9. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a distributed team.
  10. A./B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related area, or relevant experience.
Nice to Have
  1. Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Athena, or GraphQL.
