The role of a Debt Recovery Manager involves overseeing the entire process of collecting debts, guiding and monitoring team performance to ensure timely completion of tasks. This entails analyzing data on team performance, developing strategies for optimal collection processes and tracking results through regular reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate activities of the collections team to maintain high performance levels.
  • Develop strategies to optimize collection processes, identify areas for improvement and implement new procedures as needed.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare detailed management reports to inform decision-making.
  • Manage conflicts and negotiations with clients to ensure receipt of due amounts while maintaining professional relationships.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in coordinating or supervising collections teams, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of debt collection processes, legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities, empowering team members to achieve goals.
