Role Overview:

  • We are seeking a Data Quality Specialist to join our Enterprise Data Platform delivery team.

This role involves ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data pipelines running in cloud-based environments through rigorous testing, validation, and monitoring processes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and Business Analysts to define quality requirements and develop test strategies.
  • Design, document, and execute data validation test cases for ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL and testing tools.
  • Perform manual and automated testing of data ingestion, transformation, and output processes.
  • Identify patterns and anomalies in structured and unstructured data, and create dashboards or alerts for ongoing data quality monitoring.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis and suggest corrective actions for recurring data issues.
  • Log and track data defects in defect tracking tools, and collaborate with developers for resolution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3–5+ years of experience in data QA, data testing, or data validation roles.
  • Strong experience writing and executing SQL queries for validation.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT testing workflows and data pipeline architecture.
  • Experience working with cloud-based data services, especially BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Storage.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automated data testing tools, e.g., Great Expectations, dbt tests, or custom Python-based scripts.
  • Experience creating monitoring dashboards for data quality in production.
  • Knowledge of Python or scripting to automate data validation tasks.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaboration tools.
