Job Overview

The Risk Evaluation Analyst is accountable for conducting thorough risk assessments of new and existing clients with high-risk attributes. This role supports the team in identifying root causes to issues, streamlining workflows, providing guidance, and collaborating with stakeholders across the business and risk functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of global risk policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Analyze various risk components within a client profile and their interconnectedness.
  • Independently investigate risks to understand context and resolve material issues when necessary.
  • Offer constructive feedback and coaching to the team based on quality control findings and peer reviews.
  • Collaborate with the team to calibrate risk findings and avoid repeat occurrences.
  • Support management with provision of accurate weekly and monthly metrics if requested.
  • Work with the team to enhance analysis writing and risk assessments.
  • Conduct root cause analysis where appropriate to develop effective solutions for identified deficiencies.
  • Promote On-Job-Training and mentor new hires.
  • Develop staff within the team by providing challenging objectives and identifying training opportunities.
  • Organize calibration calls with business stakeholders to align policy and reduce return reasons.
  • Provide advice from a risk perspective on issues escalated by risk or business partners.
  • Elevate risk concerns or significant suspicious activities to senior management.
  • Manage workflow coordination by monitoring queues, assigning records, and identifying capacity constraints.
  • Assist with day-to-day management of the team and develop training plans as needed.
  • Perform Manager Control Assessment (MCA) to identify control weaknesses or non-adherence to policies, procedure, and standards.
  • Develop recommendations to improve the risk process and submit to risk management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • AML Certification preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Critical thinking and complex issue assessment ability.
  • Recent working knowledge of risk legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Able to rapidly comprehend new and complex products.
  • Commitment to understanding country-specific principles and business knowledge related to risk regulations.
  • Proactive, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks on time.
  • Understanding of escalation and follow-up methods when potential risk is identified.
  • Able to independently refer to policies and procedures and put into context with regards to this role.
Education

Bachelor's degree/ University degree or equivalent experience.
