Multilingual Conference Interpreter

We are seeking highly skilled professionals proficient in both Portuguese and English to provide simultaneous interpretation services at various conferences, symposiums, meetings, and work sessions. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in simultaneous and consecutive interpretation techniques, along with a deep understanding of professional ethics and responsibility in interpretation.

1. Provide high-quality interpretation services from English to Portuguese and vice versa in diverse settings, including conferences, meetings, and other professional gatherings.
2. Quickly and accurately comprehend and analyze written and oral messages in both languages and convey them orally with precision.
3. Adhere to professional ethics and responsibilities inherent in the field of interpretation.
4. Collaborate with research groups focusing on improving professional practices related to human well-being, transparent communication, information quality, and other relevant areas.

1. Certification as a community interpreter, demonstrating proficiency in English and Portuguese, and completing at least a 40-hour community interpreting training program.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in community interpretation, with a proven track record of excellence.
3. Proficiency in simultaneous, consecutive, and whisper interpretation techniques.
4. Experience and proficiency in both English to Portuguese and Portuguese to English interpretation.
5. Mobility to travel and navigate various job sites.
6. Ability to provide both consecutive and simultaneous interpretation accurately and effectively.
7. Sensitivity to culturally sensitive situations, perspectives, and phrases, and the ability to respond appropriately.
