Senior Backend Engineer Role Summary

This role is a high-priority position in our development team, responsible for creating and maintaining robust backend solutions that power innovative access control systems.

  • Develop and maintain complex backend applications using Spring Boot, Java, and Kotlin.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements using server-side logic.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from design to deployment.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend systems for high performance and responsiveness.
  • Stay up-to-date with current backend technologies and best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.
Responsibilities And Authorities
  • Authority to make technical decisions related to software architecture and design.
  • Access to necessary resources and tools to perform the role effectively.
  • Deliver high-quality software solutions on time and within established timelines.
  • Mentor junior developers, providing guidance and support for their career growth.
  • Report directly to the R&D Manager for project assignments and career development.
Internal and External Contacts/Customers
  • Internal: Collaborate closely with other software developers, QA engineers, product managers, and designers.
  • External: Interact with external stakeholders during product demos or user feedback sessions.
Skills And Qualifications
  • Proficient in Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Experience with observability technologies (e.g. Datadog).
  • Experience with Git versioning systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage time efficiently.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 6 years of professional experience in backend development.
  • Proven experience with Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC.
  • Familiarity with Git versioning systems.
