Rig Superintendent Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rig Superintendent to lead our drilling operations in Kuwait. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of drilling activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Drilling Operations Management: Provide overall supervision and management of drilling operations on the rig, ensuring compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations and policies.
  2. Drilling Activities Coordination: Monitor and control drilling activities to ensure efficient and effective operations, coordinating with the drilling team to develop drilling plans and strategies.
  3. Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance, analyzing drilling data and providing recommendations for improvements and optimization.
  4. Team Supervision: Supervise and train drilling personnel to maintain a high level of competency and safety awareness, collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of drilling operations.
  5. Reporting and Communication: Prepare reports and presentations on drilling activities, performance, and future plans, staying updated with industry advancements, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements:
  1. Experience: Extensive experience as a Rig Superintendent in the oil and gas industry, with the last 5 years as a Rig Superintendent.
  2. Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge and experience in 3000 hp deep drilling rig operations, proficiency in High-Temperature High-Pressure (HTHP) drilling techniques and procedures, and familiarity with Kuwait's drilling regulations and industry standards.
  3. Leadership and Team Management: Excellent leadership and team management skills, strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, and ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  4. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, proficient in using drilling software and technology, and valid certifications and licenses as required by regulatory bodies.
