Financial Analyst Role Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst position supports the Office of Research in various financial analysis functions, including cost research, effort reporting review, and financial system oversight. Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze labor distributions and expenditures in financial systems to support decision-making and federal reporting.
  • Assist with quarterly effort certification reviews, resolving discrepancies in labor cost allocations.
  • Support the development of financial and compliance dashboards for university leadership.
  • Prepare data extracts and summary reports for stakeholders.
Requirements

This is an entry-level professional position requiring a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or a related field.

Candidates must also have 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis, research administration, or grant compliance, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large data sets.
