Cloud Engineer Position

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Cloud Engineering team, you will play a vital role in building modeling software to drive systems such as OpenStack, Ceph, and Kubernetes with a focus on distributed storage and Ceph.

Responsibilities
  • Develop High-Quality Code: Write high-quality, rigorously designed Python and Golang software to ensure the stability and reliability of our systems.
  • Collaborate with Global Team: Work collaboratively with a globally distributed team to share knowledge, expertise, and best practices.
  • Debug and Optimize: Identify and debug issues, and produce high-quality code to fix them, ensuring that our systems operate at peak performance.
  • Contribute to Technical Documentation: Contribute to technical documentation that define best practices for authoring high-quality operators, promoting knowledge sharing and reuse.
  • Discuss Ideas and Collaborate: Discuss ideas and collaborate on finding good solutions to complex problems, driving innovation and improvement.
  • Develop and Maintain Software: Develop and maintain software for delivery, operations, and life-cycle management of Ceph storage, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent: Hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
  • Experience in Modern Python: Have experience with writing modern, maintainable Python code, ensuring efficient and scalable development.
  • Ceph Storage Experience: Possess experience with Ceph storage, including its architecture, deployment, and management.
  • Curiosity, Flexibility, Articulation, and Accountability: Demonstrate curiosity, flexibility, articulation, and accountability, showcasing your ability to adapt, communicate effectively, and take ownership of your work.
  • Passion for Distributed Systems: Be passionate about the future of the software-defined datacenter, distributed systems, and open-source technologies, driving innovation and progress.
  • Travel Requirements: Be willing to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events, meetings, and collaborations.
