Import Trade Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill this role in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil.

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the import process from start to finish.
  • This includes monitoring import requests with exporters and customs brokers, requesting maritime bookings and verifying shipping documents, instructing loading with the carrier, and preparing import licenses.
  • Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to perform daily follow-ups of imports with freight agents, customs brokers, and RFB, update arrivals, request payments to suppliers, verify and approve import expenses for the Finance department, fill out reports, Excel spreadsheets, and feed the ERP system.
  • Ongoing tasks will also include issuing import and shipment invoices, verifying and requesting Inmetro certification from suppliers, sending and monitoring shipments with transport companies, analyzing orders vs. shipments, drafting documentation and emails in English, preparing the product catalog database, interacting with other company departments (finance, logistics, sales), assisting with customs broker follow-up, and verifying import documents (invoice, packing list, BL).

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Foreign Trade is essential.
  • A strong background in end-to-end import processes is required.
  • Knowledge of import documents and licenses is necessary.
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, intermediate English proficiency for documentation and emails, intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP/H, Dashboards, IF function, etc.), a proactive problem-solving attitude, education in Foreign Trade, International Relations, Business Administration, or related fields, knowledge of Regulatory Agencies (INMETRO, IBAMA, MAPA, RF), solid experience with customs brokers, financial analysis, and closure skills, as well as experience in contracting freight services and communication with international suppliers.
