Job Description:

We are seeking an exceptional Lead Linux Kernel Engineer to drive key aspects of our kernel architecture, implementation, and delivery. As a key contributor, you will shape the future of Ubuntu and be part of a leading team in the open-source industry.

  • Collaborate with senior technical leadership on the Kernel Team to ensure seamless coordination and execution.
  • Mitigate common vulnerabilities and exposures for Ubuntu Linux, driving engagements with Silicon and Cloud partners for optimal solutions.
  • Architect enhancements for performance and correctness, streamlining third-party component packaging and distribution.
Requirements:
  • Expert understanding of the C programming language, with demonstrated expertise in *nix-based operating system kernels and distributions.
  • Strong grasp of device drivers, BSP's, and other low-level system engineering, with prior experience developing with software packaging formats, ideally with Ubuntu/Debian/Snap.
  • Precise knowledge of the git version control system, with Python and Bash scripting ability.
  • Demonstrated experience with kernel patching and debugging, strong background in RTOS and real-time performance analysis.
