Job Title: In-Water & Mooring Engineer

SBM Offshore is seeking a highly skilled In-Water & Mooring Engineer to join our team. As an In-Water & Mooring Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our offshore floating facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with mooring SMEs and global teams to manage the execution of baseline surveys after hook-up.
  2. Work with integrity planners to create in-water survey plans and input for integrated operating plans and computerized maintenance management systems.
  3. Define the scope of work for specific units under survey based on standard templates.
  4. Provide technical information and support, serving as a contact point for communication between regulatory bodies and class regarding in-water survey scope and findings resolution.
  5. Prepare purchase initial requests for in-water survey scope.
  6. Support supply chain in request for quotations.
  7. Collaborate with cargo superintendents and operations engineers on logistics and preparation of units for in-water surveys.
  8. Supervise and support offshore superintendents for cargo superintendents and monitor the execution of in-water inspections, including some travel offshore during inspections.
  9. Check and validate inspection activities reports and output.
  10. Supervise and monitor class approval on-board.
  11. Analyze inspection results.
  12. Prepare lessons learned after each campaign and hand-over to mooring SMEs and TA.
  13. Develop findings action plans and ERP system work-orders.
  14. Support mooring lines integrity intelligent agent follow-up, liaising with mooring SMEs in headquarters.
  15. Assist in developing automatic health quarterly reports for deployed agents and liaise with cargo superintendents and class.
  16. Act as local ambassador for digital application adoption and manage user feedback for continuous improvement, in collaboration with mooring SMEs.
  17. Be responsible for repairing and maintaining the digital application working system (mainly hardware).
Requirements:
  1. Knowledge of international codes and standards related to mooring and station-keeping of permanent structures (FPS Guide 82, API RP2SK, BV NR493, DNV OS-E301, ISO).
  2. Basic knowledge in material science and fabrication of forged steel components.
  3. Basic knowledge of mooring-related mechanical equipment (winches, tensioning systems, chain stopper).
  4. Knowledge of OrcaFlex and Ariane mooring software.
  5. Mooring expertise gained on the job that may include design, installation, and inspections (minimum 5 years).
  6. General understanding of asset integrity principles.
Education and Qualifications:
  1. B. Sc or M. Sc. (minimum 5 years study) in naval engineering, hydrodynamics, or offshore engineering.
  2. CREA.
