Transformative opportunity for an exceptional software engineer passionate about open source software, Linux, and Web Services at scale. We are seeking a skilled professional to join our innovative team in developing and operating large systems of backend services that power the Snap Store and Charmhub.io marketplaces.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technology base with a bias towards backend code and infrastructure, excellent proficiency in developing public-facing APIs and web applications using Python, and a deep understanding of relational and non-relational databases. Strong academic performance in Computer Science or a related field is also essential.

This role offers a unique chance to collaborate remotely with a globally distributed team, work on exciting challenges, and make a meaningful contribution to the world of software. If you have a passion for clean APIs, a bias towards shipping, and believe that automated tests are the key to higher velocity and reliability, you will fit right in.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement new features and enhancements from spec to production and ongoing operations at scale.
  • Write clean web service APIs to support both CLI and web frontend clients, using Python (and optionally Golang).
  • Collaborate with a globally distributed team to achieve project goals.
Requirements
  • Strong academic performance in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Excellent proficiency in developing public-facing APIs and web applications using Python.
  • Broad technology base with a bias towards backend code and infrastructure.
  • Deep understanding of relational and non-relational databases.
