Associate Attorney Role

This position involves building case defenses and trial themes independently, as well as supporting national trial teams to manage litigation nationwide for large corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze the application of state and federal case law and regulatory law to case facts for pre-trial motions and other submissions.
  • Draft original motions and other litigation-related documents on complex matters.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests to be exchanged with various parties.
  • Interview and prepare witnesses for testimony in litigation or before regulatory bodies.
  • Take and defend depositions of lay, expert, and corporate representative witnesses.
  • Argue motions in court.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships through effective oral and written communication.
  • Draft reports and perform risk analyses.
  • Participate in mediations, status conferences, settlement conferences, and hearings.
  • Develop overall strategies for case resolution and solve problems creatively.
  • Assign and supervise work for paralegals.
  • Negotiate settlements with plaintiffs and other opposing parties.

In addition to these responsibilities, this role also requires a strong service orientation, experience working directly with clients, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to at least one state bar.
  • 1-3 years of litigation experience in a law firm.
  • Background in mass torts, class actions, environmental, commercial litigation, abuse, harassment, discrimination, or other complex risk management matters required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and superior written and oral communication skills.
