Early Years and Primary Years Physical Education Specialist Teacher

As a physical education specialist teacher in early years and primary years, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality educational experiences that cater to the diverse needs of students.

  • This role requires a degree in Physical Education and registration with the Regional Council of Physical Education.
  • With 2 years of experience in teaching early years and/or elementary, you will have developed strong classroom management skills.

Proficiency in English is a must, and bilingualism is also an asset. Familiarity with Microsoft Office is expected.

Beyond technical knowledge, we are looking for individuals with desirable skills such as IB Methodology, digital thinking, caring profile, interpersonal relationships, conflict management, creativity, collaboration, autonomy, and proactivity.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching classes and guiding student learning, promoting experiential learning based on our pedagogical plan;
  • Knowledge of our Pedagogical Proposal, adopted approach, and learning expectations for each grade level;
  • Analyzing student evolution, collecting evidence, and defining actions to improve performance;
  • Developing strategies to promote student engagement and improvement, based on observation and evidence collection;
  • Promoting special classes and strategies for students with learning difficulties;
  • Preparing adaptations and accommodations for students with special educational needs;
  • Ensuring safety by maintaining constant supervision during activities, observing, guiding, and intervening when necessary to prevent accidents;
  • Carefully observing student attitudes and behaviors to identify potential health issues and providing necessary actions;
  • Reporting observed behaviors and student performance to keep families informed;
  • FOLLOWING general guidelines (Language Policy, Teachers' Handbook, Assessment Policy);
  • Preparing weekly plans at agreed frequencies and displaying them in the classroom;
  • Periodically reviewing weekly plans, considering proposed and achieved objectives, and replanning when necessary;
  • Forwarding copies of activities, projects, and materials for classroom use for approval by Coordination, respecting defined deadlines;
  • Maintaining accurate and complete student records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations;
  • Advising students through evidence-based practices, handling conflict situations according to our school philosophy;
  • Collecting evidence of student learning during lessons;
  • Evaluating students based on collected evidence, assigning grades, and presenting them to Coordination according to deadlines;
  • Guiding the Teaching Assistant with clear expectations, deadlines, and instructions, reporting identified development needs to Coordination;
  • Informing parents/guardians when requested and under Coordination supervision about student development;
  • Attending Academic Meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence;
  • Being responsible for student materials and class management;
  • Communicating daily occurrences related to students to Coordination (accidents, illnesses, absences, etc.);
  • Taking care of and maintaining objects and equipment used in class, as well as keeping the space organized;
  • Giving regular feedback to help students know how to improve and develop in class;
  • Sharing relevant information about students with other teachers in the class;
  • Meeting deadlines set by our guidelines (report card, unit summary, unit planner, etc.);
  • Performing tasks related to those described above and determined by immediate superiors.
