Supporting Learning and Development

This role is a collaborative opportunity to contribute to the teaching staff of a Prep & Pre-prep School, supporting high-quality teaching and learning. The ideal candidate will create a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment that promotes pupils' academic, social, and personal development.

Main Responsibilities
  • Supporting Pupils' Learning: Assist in creating a positive learning atmosphere by working collaboratively with class and specialist teachers, upholding high expectations of teaching and learning.
  • Promoting Positive Values: Encourage positive attitudes and behaviour among pupils, helping them develop confidence, skills, good judgement, and independence.
  • Preparing Resources: Organise the learning environment and prepare resources to support teaching and learning, ensuring sports equipment is well maintained and readily available.
  • Maintaining a Safe Environment: Supervise pupils, engage with them positively, and mediate conflicts when necessary, ensuring their physical and emotional safety at all times.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with class and specialist teachers/coaches, both verbally and in writing, to ensure consistency throughout the school day.
  • Targeted Support: Provide targeted support to individual pupils or small groups, enabling full participation in activities.
  • Fostering Inclusion: Encourage inclusion and acceptance of all pupils, helping each child to feel valued and successful in their learning.
  • Professional Standards: Model the school's professional standards, including appropriate uniform, punctuality, attendance, and conduct with all members of the school community.
Key Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with a passion for education and working with children. Relevant experience and qualifications in early years education or a related field are highly desirable.
