Accounting Specialist Role Overview

The role of an accounting specialist involves supervising and controlling taxation analysis and country tax management. This position requires strong analytical skills, organizational abilities, and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all preliminary tax obligations are met, including calculation of the amount and forecasting with treasury and booking.
  • Prepare work papers for the quarterly provision process.
  • Responsible for preparing monthly account reconciliations.
  • Assist with annual audit planning.
  • Draft reply letters to queries and advisory letters to clients.
  • Participate in investigations and field audits, prepare analyses and other special jobs.
  • Prepare and file profits tax returns, individuals' tax returns, and other tax compliance matters.
  • Take up ad hoc assignments.
  • Responsible for the preparation of corporate tax returns for Branches and Subsidiaries.
  • Responsible for the compilation of the appropriate documentation to support the filings.
  • Ensure the process is followed, including regular liaison with policy.
  • Ensure process documentation is updated after each annual filing.
  • Work with the Assistant Manager to respond to tax office queries and audits in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Involvement in cross-functional tax projects.
  • Assist the Corporate Tax Manager with planning opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Degree holder with major in Accounting.
  • 2-4 years or above relevant working experience and supervisory experience.
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and local language.
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to work under pressure.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Immediate availability is highly preferred.
Work Environment:

The role will be performed in a climate-controlled internal office environment, working under normal office conditions.
