We are seeking an ambitious software engineer to join our team and drive innovation in test automation tools.
- Maintain and develop new features for Python based test automation tools used by both in-house teams and industry partners.
- Invent novel methods to enable remote, automated testing.
- Collaborate on building the software counterpart to designed testing hardware to facilitate device enablement (graphics, hotplug, bluetooth, etc).
- Create functional and performance tests to support hardware enablement and prevent regressions.
This is an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the adoption of Linux across multiple device categories and industries.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated software engineer with experience developing in Python, who can work collaboratively as part of a globally distributed team.
We seek out continuous process and tooling improvements as part of expanding the certification test suites, ultimately to improve the quality of Linux experience felt by millions of users.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe role involves:
- Maintaining and developing new features for Python based test automation tools like Checkbox.
- Inventing novel methods to enable remote, automated testing.
- Collaborating on building the software counterpart to designed testing hardware.
- Creating functional and performance tests to support hardware enablement and prevent regressions.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong understanding of Python programming language.
- A pragmatic approach to software design and implementation.
- Experience working with Ubuntu or other Linux distributions.
While not mandatory, it would be beneficial to have:
- Experience working in an agile environment.
- Familiarity with the C programming language.
