About the Role

This position is part of our core track, focusing on developing low-level system technology for autonomous devices across all seniority levels.

We seek diligent engineers who appreciate the challenge of memory, performance, battery, and connectivity constrained code that must work flawlessly in an unpredictable environment, on x86, ARM, or RISC-V silicon.

About Us

We have multiple teams dedicated to open source for embedded environments. We're looking for exceptional Linux software engineers passionate about innovation, cutting-edge hardware and software technologies, and collaboration.

You'll be expected to make significant contributions through high-quality design and code, and develop your technical leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing Ubuntu Core and snapd software
  • Collaborating with silicon software and optimisation engineers
  • Working with kernel driver and hardware enablement engineers
  • Participating in hardware-centric Linux QA processes
  • Contributing to hardware certification initiatives
  • Engaging with robotics and industrial IoT software projects
  • Collaborating on networking software development (switching, routing, access, and SmartNICs)
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • An outstanding academic record from both high school and university
  • A proven track record of delivering results above expectations
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent narrative
  • Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
  • Passion for Linux or embedded systems software (e.g., kernel, graphics, Yocto)
  • Fluency in at least one of Golang, C, C++, or Rust
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
  • Self-motivation and passion for innovation
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Results-driven approach with a personal commitment to meeting goals
