Ambitious Sales Director

Canonical is seeking a seasoned Partner Sales Director to play a pivotal part in our growth strategy over the next three years. This role involves collaborating with Global System Integrators (GSI) throughout their sales cycles and across their sales organizations.
Key Responsibilities:- Building Strategic Partnerships: Establish trusted relationships with partners at various levels, focusing on building loyalty with technology.
- Technical Expertise: Develop an in-depth understanding of Linux and cloud software ecosystems, as well as open-source selling models.
- Negotiating Contracts: Negotiate contracts and commercial terms with partners.
- Understanding Partner Dynamics: Gain insight into partner organizations and sales models, particularly with Global System Integrators.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with marketing, sales engineering, and product management teams to deliver on targets and provide a voice for partners.
- Leading Executive Interlocks: Lead executive interlocks between partners and leadership teams.
- Travel Requirements: Ability to travel up to 40% of the time, sometimes internationally.
About You
- Proven Experience in Alliance or Indirect Sales Management Roles: Possess extensive experience in alliance or indirect sales management roles.
- Technical Proficiency: Have expertise with OpenStack, virtualization, containers, and other cloud technologies.
- Autonomous Work Style: Demonstrate an autonomous, disciplined, hands-on approach to work.
- Customer Focus: Be able to capture customer requirements, evaluate gaps, identify, and create opportunities.
- Passion for Technology: Show passion for Ubuntu products and mission.
- Comfortable in Dynamic Environments: Be comfortable in fast-paced and high-pressure environments with ambitious achievement goals.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and presentation skills.
