Improve industrial processes by designing and configuring control systems.

Job Purpose

This role involves collaborating with customers to create automated solutions for their industrial processes. Senior automation engineers are expected to demonstrate the ability to manage customer expectations and product quality from tendering through the life of the field. This includes designing, configuring, and coaching peers in good design and best practices. The candidate must demonstrate process and project management skills to work effectively with customers, peers, and the product development team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement high-quality software applications.
  • Work cross-functionally with software, application, and quality engineers to ensure products meet engineering and client success criteria.
  • Actively participate in defining and implementing new processes and improvements.
  • Identify and create new technologies and ideas to increase the organization's intellectual property and better address customer needs.
  • Present designs and solutions to internal and external teams and review designs of software and quality engineers.
  • Coordinate with QA team to develop test plans and test automation processes to increase automated functional tests.
  • Mentor team members in development technologies, tools, and processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electronic, Controls & Automation, Mechatronics, Chemical, Electrical, Computer Science, or equivalent Engineering, with a focus on industrial process control.
  • Active CREA certification.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Experience in developing automated applications or research involving process automation.
  • Experience with configuration and design of industrial control systems on hardware, software, or modeling sides.
  • Ability to design, review, and implement both software and hardware components of control systems from instrumentation to operator HMI.
  • Understanding of dynamics within linear and non-linear systems, especially upstream oil and gas processes.
  • Ability to produce project documentation according to international standards and customer requirements and present them for approval.
  • Knowledge of industrial protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, serial, etc., and their applications.
  • Advanced experience with multiple text and visual programming languages.
  • Experience with Python programming is highly desirable.
