Job Description:

The Country Financial Controller will oversee the implementation of effective financial processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reports. This role requires a strategic thinker to drive process excellence and improve overall performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Excellence: Drive process improvement initiatives for accounting operations, identifying gaps, designing future state, and implementing updated processes.
  • Tax and Reporting Compliance: Supervise tax and reporting compliance for Brazil, ensuring adherence to GAAP and local statutory standards.
  • Accounting Systems: Ensure compliance with GAAP and local reporting and regulatory standards for accounting systems.
  • Audit Coordination: Coordinate and manage audits for US GAAP and statutory purposes in a timely manner.
  • Internal Control: Develop and maintain internal control and safeguards over company assets, revenue, costs, and program budgets.
  • Team Management: Oversee in-house teams and third-party service providers, ensuring compliance with GAAP and local reporting and regulatory standards.
  • Financial Data: Work with FP&A to provide financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration required.
  • 10+ years of related experience in finance and accounting for a major multi-national company or division of a large corporation required.
  • Local CPA or Public Accounting required, with Big 4 at a supervisory level highly preferred.
  • Ability to speak English fluently. Knowledge of Spanish, preferred.
  • Prior experience working with accounting systems and software, financial reports, audits, and corporate tax required.
  • International accounting and Brazilian tax experience required.
  • Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting.
  • Strong Analytic, organization, and critical thinking skills, allowing for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to regional management and corporate team.
