Job Title: Financial Leadership Opportunity

The Accounting Manager AVP is a key role responsible for leading the month-end close process, preparing and submitting reports to regulatory bodies, and managing entity-wide financial reconciliation processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform the month-end close process;
  • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory bodies;
  • Manage entity-wide financial reconciliation processes ('BSRS');
  • Work on reconciliation and GL review processes/projects involving data manipulation and spreadsheets;
  • Calculate amounts and raise relevant general ledger journals for specific accounts;
  • Produce financial and regulatory reports as required;
  • Work on projects to automate and streamline areas of the month-end process;
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and procedures;
  • Review primary and supplementary data for group reporting and produce business commentary;
  • Liaise with business stakeholders and obtain information;
  • Manage stakeholders and produce ad-hoc analysis for senior management;
  • Participate in local product discussions;
  • Contribute to system changes and transformation projects;
  • Implement new reporting requirements;
  • Liaise closely with auditors and facilitate their requests;
Requirements:
  • Qualified accountant;
  • Proficiency in IFRS and Bacen GAAP;
  • Ability to understand the organization's activities, products, processes, and systems;
  • Ability to analyze data and possess medium to advanced Excel and database skills;
  • Excellent communication skills are essential;
  • Good time management and prioritization of work tasks;
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and rapid learning capability;
  • Experience working in an accounting role for a financial institution;
  • English and Portuguese proficiency;
  • Accounting degree;
  • CRC;

The ideal candidate will be confident dealing with various stakeholders, have strong self-awareness, and confidence to work independently using own initiative.
