Job Title: Senior Data Governance Specialist

About the Role:

This is a senior-level position in project management focused on data governance. We are seeking an experienced professional to manage and oversee data flow from source systems to dashboards, ensure data security and traceability, and facilitate integration of Power BI with AWS data sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Apply project management principles to ensure timely and successful delivery of projects.
  2. Manage risks, dependencies, and technical challenges during project execution.
  3. Understand and oversee the flow of data from source systems to dashboards.
  4. Identify and manage AWS services involved (e.g., S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena).
  5. Ensure critical stages like ingestion, transformation, storage, and visualization are properly managed.
  6. Apply core data governance principles including quality, access control, and compliance.
  7. Ensure data security and traceability using appropriate tools and practices.
  8. Facilitate the integration of Power BI with AWS data sources.
  9. Implement data modeling best practices in Power BI.
  10. Manage report publishing and access using Power BI Service.
  11. Act as a bridge between technical teams (data engineers, data analysts, PBI specialists) and business stakeholders.
  12. Translate business requirements into technical deliverables.
  13. Identify and manage technical risks, such as data quality issues and pipeline failures.
  14. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage dependencies (data engineering, BI, security, infrastructure).

Requirements:

  • Proficient in English (Advanced Level).
  • Previous experience as an IT Project Manager.
  • Certifications: PMP/PMI certification or Agile certification (e.g., PSM).
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture, data flow, and AWS services (e.g., S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena).
  • Solid understanding of data governance principles and data security practices.
  • Experience with Power BI integration, including data modeling and report management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Proven expertise in managing risks and dependencies in technical projects.

Additional Information:

This is a hybrid work opportunity with 3 days per week in Belo Horizonte/MG.
