Leading Health Security Efforts in Madagascar

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our health security efforts in Madagascar. As Country Director, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and management oversight on all project activities in the country.

  • Serve as key point of contact for the project with USAID/Madagascar and the Government of Madagascar (GoM). Ensure alignment with global health security agenda and one health approach.
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with government entities and local/international counterparts.
  • Provide high-level technical expertise in health policy and health financing to support MOH and GoM goals.
  • Lead and oversee strategic and operational planning for the Madagascar program.
  • Ensure effective implementation according to workplan and budget.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in global health security, strong leadership and management skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in global health security, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successful project management and team leadership.
  • Excellent technical expertise in health policy and health financing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build and maintain relationships with government entities and stakeholders.
