The role of Linux Engineering Manager is critical in partnering with engineers to optimize Ubuntu for the latest silicon.
Responsibilities- Lead a distributed team to implement best-in-class Ubuntu integration across IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks.
- Promote collaboration with commercial partners to deliver a delightful, optimized first-class Ubuntu experience on their platforms.
- Develop your team through coaching, mentoring, and providing timely feedback.
- Oversee commercial engagements and support timely delivery on agreed project milestones.
- Maintain strict quality and reliability standards.
- Collaborate with other teams at Canonical to ensure alignment on product architecture and roadmaps.
- Experience working with Linux distributions, Debian packaging, and high-performance server-class hardware.
- Direct customer engagement, resolving technical issues, interpreting business challenges, and effectively communicating solutions.
- Demonstrated experience managing or leading a team of software engineers.
- Understanding of agile software development methodologies.
- Collaborative skills across multiple internal teams, building trust, and delivering results.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and oral.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a technology field.
