Job Overview

Emirates is seeking a highly skilled Airport Services Officer to join its team. As an Airport Services Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of airport services, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and security.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of airport operations, including handling agents, caterers, and other external departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse potential operational problems and take necessary remedial action to minimize disruptions and ensure customer service levels are maintained.
  • Brief Handling Agents, caterers, and other service providers on Emirates' requirements for the day's operation, including any special handling needs.
  • Control expenditure on damage baggage replacement and lost baggage claims, delegating some of the baggage claims processing to Supervisors/ASAs as needed.
  • Assist the Airport Services Manager in preparing and maintaining staff duty rosters and annual leave plans, ensuring optimal staffing levels.
  • Undertake various administrative duties delegated by the Airport Services Manager, including attending meetings and representing Emirates interests.
  • Assist the ASM in Employee Regulation Programme and conduct staff performance reviews, setting objectives and development plans.
  • Manage and administer all operational/supervisory activities on a shift basis, ensuring control of processes related to document and information consolidation.
  • Monitor operational units (Customer Services, Ticket desk, Ramp, and Lounge), establish a regular reporting mechanism, and ensure timely and consistent monitoring of service delivery.
  • Understand projects from time to time as advised by the Airport Services Manager to improve efficiency and quality of service delivered at the station.

Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum 'A' Level or equivalent qualification.
  • Completed relevant professional training courses in Customer Services and Ground Operations.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in airport customer handling/operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory position.

Knowledge/Skills

  • A working knowledge of Reservations/Fares and Ticketing, Departure Control Systems.
  • Knowledge of Dangerous Goods Regulations & Weight & Balance.
  • Knowledge of Baggage Tracing and Claims Handling.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word/E-mail/Excel and local languages.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and required local language.
