The United Nations Human Settlements Programme in Rio de Janeiro seeks a highly skilled individual to fill the position of Project Manager for Communication and Coordination.
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic professional to provide technical advice and support the execution of communication activities related to a project. The selected candidate will work closely with local coordinators, programme and communications teams, staff from other UN Agencies, government officials, media representatives, multilateral and bilateral donors, and civil society organizations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice on communication strategies and tactics to support project objectives
- Collaborate with local coordinators and programme teams to ensure effective communication and coordination among stakeholders
- Develop and implement communication plans to raise awareness about the project's goals and achievements
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, media representatives, and civil society organizations
Qualifications/Special Skills
The ideal candidate should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in project management, communication, and coordination
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Location and Duration
The successful candidate will be based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and will be required to travel occasionally to meet with stakeholders and participate in project-related activities.
