We are seeking a Chemical Engineer to join our team as a Risk Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with experience in the Chemical industry to work on evaluating equipment integrity and providing risk guidance to clients.
This role involves working closely with Operations Engineering, Client Services, and Underwriting teams to deliver focused risk improvement solutions and reduce equipment risk. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to manage their time effectively, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Evaluate equipment integrity and identify hazards and deficiencies to provide risk guidance and implement best practices.
- Utilize operating standards, data sheets, and guides to support risk improvement initiatives.
- Prepare engineering reports and loss expectancies to support risk management decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' work experience in the Chemical industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid B1/B2 USA visa desired.
This is a field-based role requiring travel to client sites to evaluate operations and systems. Overnight travel is expected, with approximately 75-100 nights per year.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of basic machinery and equipment, hands-on experience, and proficiency in MS Office products. They should also be results-driven, have self-learning skills, and be fluent in English (spoken and written) with Portuguese being a plus.
