Product Portfolio Management Job Description

As a Product Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Customer Unit relationship and driving early engagement to secure end-to-end portfolio requirements and visibility. This is a high-impact position with broad responsibility for relationships with Sales and Solutions teams, optimizing customer product portfolios, securing portfolio performance, and implementing suitable supply chains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and growing strong and transparent Customer Unit relationships
  • Securing early engagement with Customer Unit (Sales and Solutions)
  • Monitoring customer and business trends
  • Establishing and maintaining excellent internal networks with stakeholders in Supply, pre-Sales, Bid Office, Engineering, Strategic Product Management, Product Development Units, and Supply Hubs
  • Securing Customer portfolios, driving life-cycle management with key focus on phase in/out, and influencing product selection during solution definitions, including proposals for production portfolio updates
  • Leading portfolio adherence discussions and driving improvement actions in a cross-functional environment
  • Driving flow-oriented process and performance improvements
  • Investigating opportunities for cost and lead time reductions, engaging and driving cross-functional teams, including localization, trade agreements, tax benefits, scrap avoidance, inventory reduction, etc.
  • Driving the implementation of Customer Specific Solution (CSS) into the Supply Hubs, including customer requirements, pilot execution, prototype approval, cost model, and industrialization

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of knowledge in any field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience
  • Domain experience in Networks, but across all domains is a plus
  • Supply Chain & Supply Process knowledge
  • Product Management knowledge
  • Leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams
  • High level of interpersonal/relationship skills with the ability to communicate optimally with customers, colleagues, and management
  • Team-player, proactive, committed to providing high-quality work to support customer needs
