  • We're seeking a skilled Public Outreach Coordinator to join our global team in support of our research initiatives in Latin America. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing communications strategies that drive engagement and awareness of our work in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive outreach plans to engage key stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, and media representatives.
  • Write and disseminate press releases, infographics, and other materials that effectively communicate our research findings and promote our brand.
  • Collaborate with our global Communications Team to create engaging digital content, including social media posts, blog articles, and email newsletters.
  • Organize and moderate virtual and in-person events, such as webinars, workshops, and conferences, to showcase our research and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the translation of communications materials into English, Spanish, and Portuguese, as required.
  • Develop and manage editorial calendars for publications, blogs, webinars, and other communications elements relevant to projects in the region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media contacts in our core markets (Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico), and throughout the region.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field. A master's or graduate-level degree is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of directly relevant experience in journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful outreach campaigns.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Fluency (both written and verbal) in English and Spanish and/or Portuguese. Fluency in all three is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental issues.
  • Work experience with research organizations and/or civil society is a plus.
