Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Transmission Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and validating transmission systems.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and validate the design of transmission systems.
  2. Define root causes and validate solutions for issues happening in the field, plant, or supplier.
  3. Manage Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) documentation.
  4. Execute bench testing and in-vehicle performance & functional testing.
  5. Triage transmission-related issues occurring in various fleets, including development vehicles, durability/reliability vehicles, and fast feedback to improve customer satisfaction and meet various quality metrics.
  6. First responder to apparent trans hardware-related concerns.
  7. Systematically diagnose the root cause and support development of corrective actions.
  8. Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of many General Information Messages (GIMs), support corrective action development, identification & validation.
  9. Identify various system-level transmission performance targets.
  10. Support debug effort of new program vehicle phases.
Requirements
  1. Minimum 3 years' experience in the automotive industry or product engineering design, validation, and engineering projects development with OEM and/or tier 1/2 supplier.
  2. Minimum 3 years' experience in transmission, driveline & axles or related area.
  3. Thorough understanding of vehicle functions and general vehicle architecture.
  4. Understanding of typical automotive manufacturing and quality processes.
  5. Leadership, organization, planning, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills.
  6. Ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships and uncertainty through effective communication and experience.
  7. Proactive, learning, self-driven, teamwork-oriented.
  8. Efficient work under pressure and high communication skills.
  9. Training in problem-solving techniques.
  10. Must be able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  11. Must be able to lead and manage Suppliers.
  12. Some travel required to Supplier and Corporate Engine / Transmission / Vehicle Assembly Plants.
