Job Description

The primary role of a Claims Manager is to investigate and resolve complex insurance claims. This involves managing multiple tasks simultaneously, including examining claim forms, interviewing claimants, and negotiating settlements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle high-stakes claims without assistance up to designated authority levels;
  • Examine claim documents and records to determine coverage eligibility;
  • Communicate with claimants and witnesses regarding claims;
  • Consult police and medical records; inspect property damage to assess liability;
  • Determine costs for repair, replacement, or compensation;
  • Presentation of findings and negotiation of settlements with claimants;
  • Recommend litigation if negotiations fail;
  • Review and update case reserves in claims files to cover probable costs;
  • Analyze loss experience reports to assess profitability and determine future rates.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred;
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and PC literacy;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Effective time management and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team;
  • Meets or exceeds performance expectations.
