Hard Surface Outsourcing Lead Job Description

We're seeking a skilled Hard Surface Outsourcing Lead to oversee the creation of high-quality 3D assets for our projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in AAA title development, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with outsource partners.

In this role, you'll work closely with the HS Director and HS Art Leads to develop clear creative direction for assets, ensure timely delivery, and evaluate the performance of outsource vendors. You'll also be responsible for collecting documentation, providing feedback to vendors, and ensuring consistency across assets.

The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate complex creative feedback effectively. If you're passionate about delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Develop and implement creative direction for assets in collaboration with the HS Director and HS Art Leads.
  • Evaluate and hire outsource vendors, ensuring they meet our quality standards.
  • Collect and document asset production procedures, engine requirements, and vendor information.
  • Provide clear and concise feedback to outsource partners, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Experience in shipping AAA titles across multiple platforms.
  • Proven expertise in 3D modeling, texturing, and UV mapping.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software, including Maya, 3ds Max, Zbrush, Photoshop, and Substance.
