Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Engineering Director to lead the development and implementation of high-quality software solutions. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and execution of complex software projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop scalable backend systems and services that meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand technical needs and translate them into actionable designs.
  • Create detailed architecture and design documentation, timelines, and user stories.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a strong culture of quality and ownership.
  • Lead and manage globally distributed teams with clear communication and technical vision.
  • Work across disciplines to drive cross-functional initiatives and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Shape development processes to promote maintainability, quality, and iterative delivery.
  • Participate in and lead code reviews, ensuring performance, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Support ongoing release cycles and contribute to system stability and observability.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
  • Leadership in architecture and system design decisions.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in Java software development.
  • 3+ years of experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
  • Strong experience with Microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Proven ability to build, enhance, debug, and tune backend applications.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).
  • Familiarity with distributed caching technologies (e.g., Memcached, ElastiCache).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS), and infrastructure components such as Lambdas, Step Functions, EventBridge, and CDK.
  • Working knowledge of version control and CI/CD pipelines (Git, Docker).
