Role Overview

The primary responsibilities include the installation, configuration, maintenance, support, and security of the organization's network communications, which may involve Local Area Networks (LANs) and/or Wide Area Networks (WANs). The role involves identifying network issues, isolating root causes, and initiating corrective measures. Prioritization of actions and determination of additional resources required is based on the severity of service interruptions. Technical analysis is provided to all clients to isolate issues and formulate strategies for service restoration or activation. Collaboration with Telecommunication Engineers, LAN Administrators, and transmission and RF personnel regarding ongoing network operations is essential. Compliance with security, safety, and environmental standards is a must. Regular reports on network performance, troubleshooting outcomes, and routine maintenance of network components are generated. This position demands individuals to operate within the constraints of a global 24x7 high-availability transaction-oriented network. The ability to translate business needs into network specifications and work collaboratively with other technical teams to deliver comprehensive solutions is crucial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, assess, and provide recommendations concerning infrastructure equipment as a subject matter expert.
  • Load software, customize, and configure systems and applications to optimize resource utilization while auditing the system to minimize vulnerabilities.
  • Install new or rebuild existing servers, configuring hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc., in line with established build standards.
  • Automate the provisioning of servers, services, and end-user devices, granting users access to data repositories or authorization to systems, network applications, and databases.
  • Review work orders and designs, providing critical feedback to requestors and other business areas to accept, adapt, or decline solution development efforts.
  • Troubleshoot networking services and application protocols, guiding other business and technical teams during problem resolution.
  • Implement changes in accordance with change control processes; assist in the creation and updating of change control process guidelines, supporting team members with change control processes and escalations.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant experience or degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Profound understanding of TCP/IP.
  • Strong knowledge of dynamic routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
  • Extensive knowledge of major switching technologies including HSRP, STP, VLANs, trunking, etc.
  • Familiarity with other protocols such as GRE, GET, IP-SEC, Multicast, and QoS.
  • Proficiency in Cisco IOS and NX-OS operating systems.
  • Experience with Cisco ISR and ASR series routers.
  • Advanced proficiency in English.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with Cisco ACI.
  • Experience with virtual switching technologies such as Nexus 1000V.
  • Knowledge of F5 GTM/DNS, APM, and WAF.
  • Understanding of Cisco SD-WAN.
