Purchasing Strategist

We are seeking a seasoned Procurement Specialist to join our Supply Chain team in Sorocaba, Brazil.

• This exciting opportunity involves managing professional negotiations and procurement processes, ensuring compliance with company rules and regulations.
• You will be responsible for collecting product knowledge from Suppliers and acting as a local point of contact between them and Internal Stakeholders.
• Your tasks will include requesting quotations, negotiating with suppliers, and placing orders in accordance with current instructions.
• You will also manage your own supplier base, scan the market for optimal procurement, and carry out contract negotiations to optimize purchase contracts.
• In addition, you will follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery, deal with rejected and non-conforming components, and build strong relationships with Suppliers.
• You will establish and continuously develop strategies for your supplier base and category, driving cross-functional teams to achieve effectiveness and cost savings.
• Lastly, you will ensure that Valmet's purchasing strategy, policy, and procedures are fulfilled.

• A University degree in Engineering or Administration is required, along with advanced English skills and experience working with ERP systems.
• You should have solid experience in purchasing and strategic sourcing, as well as strong influencing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Availability to work in Sorocaba, Brazil is essential.
