Climate Change and Sustainability Specialist

Join us to apply for the role of Climate Change and Sustainability Expert, focused on driving the climate and sustainability agenda in a region. We are seeking an expert to provide technical leadership in managing climate and sustainability related issues in our operations, build internal and external understanding of climate change and sustainability opportunities and risks, and design and implement policy and financial approaches towards transformation toward low-carbon, climate-resilient, and sustainable development.

• Provide operational and technical expertise and knowledge to internal clients, including sector specialists, and external clients supporting the elaboration of country strategies, managing the climate change and sustainability portfolio, providing guidance to governments in climate planning and policy, and ensuring efficient programming, design, monitoring, execution, and evaluation of climate and sustainability related activities in our operations.
• Act as Project Lead in the preparation and implementation of technical cooperations and design, develop and execute climate and sustainability related projects and/or investment grants to support clients with implementation of climate change and sustainability related policy, finance, and technical solutions.
• Engage and liaise with relevant international, national, governmental and non-governmental institutions, or potential donors, as a point of contact to strengthen relations and ensure two-way flow of information between our organization and these institutions and analyze country development plans and strategies to identify priorities for financial and capacity building support.

• Master's degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
• At least Between 5 and 10 years of progressive experience in project development and management; knowledge of the sector climate and sustainability issues, country and regional issues, climate policy and institutions, climate risk, climate finance, climate adaptation and resilience, climate economic risk, climate mitigation, climate finance tracking and measure GHG emissions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and team working skills.
• Experience in the negotiation of high-complex projects with project teams and clients.
• Good knowledge of the English language, both writing and speaking.
