Justice Advocate Specialist

This role is designed for individuals who can work collaboratively with clients to achieve their goals and aspirations. The Justice Related Services team serves adults diagnosed with severe mental illness involved in the criminal justice system, including those currently incarcerated.
Key Responsibilities- Develop strategies to help clients engage with their communities, reduce hospital visits and criminal behavior, shorten time spent in correctional facilities, and decrease future incarceration.
- Collaborate with clients and case managers to identify, achieve, and maintain personal recovery-related objectives.
- Provide direct support with a person-centered approach to ensure high-quality care that meets individual needs.
- Coach clients to access community resources, such as education, vocational, social, cultural, and spiritual opportunities that align with their interests.
- Foster positive relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and other professionals to promote open communication and collaboration.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree in related fields like social work, human services, or psychology is preferred.
- One year of prior work or volunteer experience is necessary; lived experience of personal recovery and understanding of mental illness and recovery principles are highly desirable.
- Certification in CPS or CRS must be completed within six months of hire; WRAP Facilitator training is also beneficial.
- Valid driver's license with two years of driving experience, a reliable vehicle, and car insurance are essential requirements.
- Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A competitive hourly rate of $20.
