Software Engineer (Golang)

 

  • We are hiring talented software engineers to join our engineering teams, focusing on developing the systems that deliver Ubuntu to the world.

 

Our platform, Ubuntu, is a leading provider of open-source software and operating systems. It plays a significant role in enterprise initiatives such as public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT.

 

As a software engineer, you will design and implement well-tested software in Go, collaborating with other experts to ensure high-quality results.


Responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing high-quality Golang software for Linux
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve software quality and efficiency
  • Participating in code reviews and architectural discussions
  • Contribution to product success through technical advocacy
  • Adapting to emerging technologies and trends

Requirements
  • Exceptional academic track record and undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM
  • Drive and track record of exceeding expectations
  • Strong communication skills and self-motivation
  • Experience designing and writing high-quality Golang software on Linux
  • Experience with and passion for Linux at the system level
  • Professional written and spoken English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
  • Passion, thoughtfulness, and self-motivation
  • Result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments

Nice-to-have skills
  • Experience developing for Ubuntu Linux
  • Experience with Juju, LXD, Microk8s, Snapd, Ubuntu Core, Ubuntu Pro
