The role of a Communications Specialist is pivotal in raising awareness about the Environmental Regularization Project through Land Governance and Territorial Planning, as a Pillar for Sustainable Development / Land for Women Project.
Key responsibilities include designing a communication strategy, implementing it in coordination with the project team, producing and managing graphic, written, and audiovisual content, and promoting public communication activities.

- Design a communication strategy for the project, considering local particularities, target audiences, and appropriate dissemination channels.
- Implement the communication strategy in coordination with the project team, ensuring timely delivery of key outputs.
- Coordinate all communication activities of the project, providing strategic advice and operational support to the technical team.
- Produce and manage graphic, written, and audiovisual content that promotes the project's objectives and results.
- Identify and document success stories of beneficiaries through audiovisual materials and human-interest stories.
- Coordinate photo and video coverage in the field, including interviews with beneficiaries and institutional partners.
- Develop and maintain a media contact list and foster relationships with journalists, editors, and communication officers from Iterma, the Government of Maranhão, UN Brazil, FAO Brazil, and the Amazonia Consortium.
- Promote and support public communication activities, including press releases; coordination of interviews; and dissemination of project milestones.
- Support the organization and communication coverage of events related to the project.
- Ensure the project maintains a consistent and professional public image, aligned with all partners' visual identity guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with UN and FAO offices in Brasília to increase the project's visibility at national, regional, and global levels.
- Disseminate relevant press releases adapting them to the national context when needed.
- Monitor media coverage related to the project and submit periodic reports.
- Generate and publish regular content on social media platforms and contribute to the project website and FAO pages at national, regional, and global levels.
