The Human Resources Specialist role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities across LATAM, including employee relations, onboarding, payroll & benefits, HR policies and compliance, and HR analytics to support business needs.
This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Key Responsibilities- Address daily HR cases related to HR policies, payroll, benefits, and compliance, maintaining a log of resolution times for process improvement.
- Conduct pre-boarding activities, organize orientation sessions, assign mentors or buddy programs, ensure IT, security, and administrative setups are completed before the first day, and track new hire progress during the probation period.
- Develop and implement engagement activities, conduct regular check-ins and feedback, act as a mediator in disputes, and analyze exit interviews and feedback to improve retention.
- Assess training needs, develop training materials, schedule and conduct trainings, evaluate effectiveness, and maintain training records.
- Process payroll accurately and timely, manage benefits, address discrepancies, stay updated on tax regulations and deductions, and coordinate with finance for audits and reporting.
- Ensure adherence to local labor laws, update policies, conduct compliance training, handle employment contracts, terminations, and workplace disputes, and maintain documentation for audits.
- Collect and analyze HR metrics, prepare reports and dashboards, use data-driven decision making, and implement HR technology solutions to automate functions.
- Audit HR records regularly, review files and resolutions, identify trends, propose corrective actions, and implement best practices for case management.
- Develop and update SOPs for HR functions, document onboarding, payroll, grievance handling, and train staff on SOP adherence.
- Identify gaps, implement best practices, automate tasks, monitor improvements in efficiency, and remain adaptable to changing HR policies and business needs.
- Proficiency in HRMS and analytics tools; knowledge of payroll and benefits administration platforms; understanding of employment laws and compliance requirements;
- Data analysis and reporting skills using Excel or similar tools; process documentation and SOP creation expertise; proficiency in audit and compliance tracking;
- Project management capabilities for process improvement initiatives; strong interpersonal and communication skills; conflict resolution and negotiation abilities; empathy and active listening;
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
