Lead Engineer Position Overview

This role involves the development and enhancement of engine, electric drivetrain, and vehicle control system concepts for new technology applications as part of new product introductions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define requirements and documentation for engine, electric drivetrain, and vehicle control features/diagnostics
  • Prototype new control applications concepts/enhancements through modeling and simulation
  • Develop MATLAB scripts and SIMULINK models to implement control strategies
  • Design feature test procedures to ensure performance meets requirements
  • Perform and document failure modes analysis (DFMEA)
  • Support feature calibration and validation efforts in the engine test cell, integrated hardware simulator testing, locomotive system testing, customer acceptance, and field in-service monitoring
  • Contribute to design and documentation updates for safety and regulatory compliance assurance
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering
  • Professional project experience in engine/powertrain systems, electrical systems/controls modeling, and/or control systems engineering
  • Strong technical aptitude and proficiency with engineering tools and processes
  • Demonstrated capability to execute technical projects or programs
