Job Title: Senior Regulatory Specialist – Renewables Americas

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Regulatory Specialist to join our Renewables Americas team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in regulatory affairs, with a focus on offshore wind and green hydrogen in Latin America.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Equinor's strategy and growth ambitions across the Americas region, with a focus on Latin America.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for Equinor's engagement in relevant market development efforts, including supporting market prioritization efforts.
  • Lead engagement in relevant industry associations and work groups, and coordinate with state and local legislative efforts and federal regulatory and legislative efforts.
  • Actively monitor, report on, and analyze regulatory developments, proposed policies, and issues impacting offshore wind and renewables markets and operations in Latin America.
  • Participate in strategic planning and setting ambitions for Equinor's portfolio, proactively working to shape regulatory structures.
  • Become a trusted, reliable source of information, resources, and point of contact to policymakers and other stakeholders.
  • Shape policy supportive of the public good and sound operational conditions in a manner reflecting our values – open, courageous, collaborative, and caring.
  • Coordinate with industry partners, consultants, and others to execute Equinor's renewables strategy and help drive market outcomes consistent with company, association, and other allied parties' priorities.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience/active engagement with regulatory agencies, preferably with experience in South American regulatory agencies.
  • A Bachelor's degree in public policy, economics, public administration, or other related field, and/or a graduate-level or law degree.
  • Existing active regulatory network in both North and South America, highly preferred.
  • Possesses strong organizational and communication skills to work with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Fluent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Up to 25% travel, domestic and internationally, required as part of the role.
