This role involves developing an RCCE Toolkit and Course aimed at enhancing emergency preparedness and response in Brazil. The consultant will work closely with UNICEF's Social and Behaviour Change Officer, Emergency Specialist, and RCCE Specialist to produce and develop the toolkit and course on Risk Communication and Community Engagement.
The consultant will provide technical support to create a child-centered toolkit of risk communication materials to be shared with government entities at all levels. This will include collaborating with field offices that respond to humanitarian situations in Brazil to ensure the toolkit meets the needs of affected populations.
- To support child rights in humanitarian shelters across the country.
- To contribute to Brazil's efforts on Disaster Risk Reduction.
- To provide general life-saving risk communication messages for municipalities affected by emergencies.
The consultant will also develop a short child-centered RCCE course to engage and build capacity of public managers involved in emergency preparedness and response. This includes creating a 4h and 2h-options course with practical co-construction exercises tailored to target audiences. An inspirational UNICEF version of this course will serve as a starting point, which the consultant will adapt for online delivery using the EV.G platform. Additionally, two short tutorial videos will be recorded and key messages tested with the affected population and local partners. The consultant will deliver the UNICEF Risk Communication and Community Engagement Toolkit containing final versions of the tested materials.
