Product Director Role

This leadership role oversees the lifecycle of a single-use product line, driving growth and profitability. As the key leader for this product, you will be accountable for strategic decision-making, team management, and collaboration with various business functions to drive improvements, address field issues, and support sales growth.

The Product Director plays a critical role in enhancing market value by leading a technical team responsible for product improvements, product marketing, and new product concepts. This includes setting priorities, developing implementation plans, managing implementation activity, training sales, applications, and other functions on product features, benefits, and differentiation.

To succeed in this position, you must have strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science is required, and an advanced degree is preferred.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team focused on product enhancements, marketing, and innovation, prioritizing tasks, developing implementation plans, and managing activities.
  • Develop compelling product marketing materials and train Sales, Applications, and other teams on product features and benefits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement product changes and improvements based on return on investment (ROI) analysis.
  • Plan and drive cost reduction initiatives by analyzing all aspects of product costs and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Support other business functions as the product owner, addressing product-related issues and providing product capability information during sales processes.
  • Conduct SWOT analyses to assess product competitiveness and develop strategies for growth.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in capital equipment engineering, project management, or operations, preferably in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Prior leadership experience with direct personnel management and team leadership.
  • Working knowledge of bioprocess equipment, including fermenters, bioreactors, filtration systems, chromatography systems, CIP, and Single Use Systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to travel when necessary and work effectively in a matrixed organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science, with an advanced degree preferred.
