Role Overview
As a Solutions Architect, you will be pivotal in fostering strong relationships with both business and IT stakeholders. Your primary focus will be on collaborating with fellow architects to establish a comprehensive platform strategy that aligns with current and future business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Cultivate and maintain trust with various stakeholders across the organization.
• Collaborate with architects to define a strategic roadmap for platform development.
• Operate primarily at the conceptual and logical architecture levels, creating detailed logical reference architecture diagrams.
• Partner with Domain and Enterprise Architects to explore innovative solutions.
• Align with System Architects and Delivery Teams to ensure that solutions are consistent with established reference architectures and strategies.
• Engage with vendors to discover and promote emerging product capabilities that address business needs.
• Develop foundational architecture skills and provide technical leadership within your community.
• Mentor and guide technical talent within your team.
• Oversee the overall business process and technical architecture of data products within your program.
• Design and support the development of technology systems that fulfill business requirements, emphasizing platform operations and reliability.
• Create and deliver a roadmap for product lifecycle planning.
• Work across physical architecture levels, producing physical reference architecture diagrams.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies necessary for introducing new systems to meet business objectives.
• Maintain deep knowledge of systems, products, and capabilities.
Qualifications
Education: University degree in Engineering or IT.
Languages: Proficient in English.
Training: Industry training in Architecture Frameworks, preferably TOGAF.
Experience: Proven experience in leading architecture engagements.
Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, incident and change management expertise, strong customer focus, relationship-building skills, multitasking capabilities, and outstanding leadership qualities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with an innovative mindset.
Technical Skills
Recommended Technologies: SQL, Java, Python, Azure Cloud fundamentals, Azure Data Factory, Qlik Replicate, NiFi, DBT, Snowflake, Collibra, ER Studio, Data Modeling.
Desirable Technologies: Alteryx, SAP BODS, TAMR, Enterworks, MDG, Data IKU, Databricks, Confluent Kafka.
Architecture Knowledge: Familiarity with architecture methodologies.
Enterprise Knowledge: Understanding of Enterprise Architecture principles and IT strategy.
Business Acumen: Insight into business processes and the data lifecycle of products within your team.
Software Development: Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (define, design, develop, test, deploy, operate).
DevOps Knowledge: Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub actions).
Requirements Gathering: Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs and architecture.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities; knowledge of cloud technologies.
Soft Skills
• Proficient in English, capable of conveying technical concepts in simple terms.
