Job Title: Strategic Market Editor

Fastmarkets is a leading provider of price reporting, events, and intelligence services for the global commodities market. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Market Editor to join our team.

Job Summary

The Strategic Market Editor will be responsible for driving Fastmarkets' PRA strategy in the sustainability metals markets by ensuring the delivery of prices and market-leading content and engagement. This role will involve producing high-level content, engaging with the industry, and acting as an ambassador for the Fastmarkets brand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and produce high-level content, including insightful market reporting, in-depth focus pieces, and interviews, to drive market engagement and visibility in the battery raw materials/energy transition markets.
  • Help drive presence and reputation in the markets in which Fastmarkets aims to expand.
  • Identify prices to launch and promote, including determining the specifications, methodology, and data submission pool.
  • Work with the broader business to plan engagement and help lead the Energy Transitions team to engage with market participants and exchanges, leveraging our insight to deliver commodities expertise and knowledge to our customers.
  • Produces, coordinates, and edits a range of strategic content in a joined-up approach across markets and geographies for maximum impact.
  • Guides and mentors reporters and gives strategic and functional direction to the team.
  • Assesses and approves prices for certain strategic markets as required, and helps to ensure all prices produced by reporters meet Fastmetrics' and its regulators' rigorous standards.
  • Aligns strategic content with marketing, and across customer interfaces: editorial, events, client presentations, and meetings.
  • Burnishes our reputation for market-leading expertise and insight by serving as a brand ambassador at Fastmetrics' and other events, attracting high-profile speakers, presenting at events, and in meetings, and moderating panels and webinars.
  • Raises our profile in social media platforms to showcase our expertise and build interest.
Requirements
  • Strong journalism skills and writing flair.
  • A network of contacts and strong industry relations, ideally in the battery raw materials field.
  • Experience of working in a PRA.
  • Experience pricing a benchmark, or developing prices is highly desirable.
  • Deep knowledge of the battery raw materials market or associated markets would be ideal.
  • Ability to operate at the highest levels internally within a matrix management structure and with external stakeholders.
  • Public speaking experience or demonstrable ability to do so with confidence and authority.
