We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Technician to join our team on board the Skandi Africa vessel.

Job Description

As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical equipment and systems on the vessel. This is an excellent opportunity to work in the maritime industry and gain valuable experience.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment and systems, including engines, pumps, valves, and hydraulic systems.
  • Installing and testing new equipment and systems as required.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues, and providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures and industry regulations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Collaborating with other crew members and departments to ensure efficient operations on the vessel.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Mechanical Technician in the maritime industry.
  • Advanced English language skills.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in the maritime industry.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.
