Job Title: Senior Marine and Offshore Surveyor

At Lloyd's Register Group, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Marine and Offshore Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for conducting critical surveys on diverse marine and offshore structures, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance in the maritime industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct relevant activities, undertake project management, and provide advice for service delivery within your area of experience, adhering to budget constraints and contractual requirements.
  • Produce deliverables to the agreed schedule, budget, and quality levels within an appropriate format and take responsibility to review and monitor other employee's work as requested.
  • Discuss and present deliverables with internal/external clients and suggest solutions as necessary.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge, and awareness.
  • Assess or recommend the time and value of work to be undertaken for external clients and assist in identifying the most appropriate fee and cost structure.
  • Contribute to external client management, ensuring service delivery is continually improved through monitoring and acting on client feedback appropriately.
  • Ensure appropriate authorizations are gained and kept up to date, which may involve Activity Monitoring.
  • Undertake routine administration as required in line with current processes and procedures.

Key Health and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Manage your own and your team's compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems, and legal requirements, ensuring employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely.
  • Monitor and review health and safety performance, observe safety behaviors in the workplace, taking appropriate corrective and preventative action as necessary, and suggesting and implementing improvement activities.

Technical/Professional Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd's Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years program) or qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship's officer.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution (I. Eng or equivalent).
  • Working towards or achieving charted or incorporated engineering status.
  • To work in accordance with professional codes of conduct and the LR Code of Ethics in IMS01.
  • To provide technical and commercial leadership within the responsibilities assigned.
  • Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the work.
